What is the situation with "your" Dmax Cruise Control.
My Dmax, "Cruise Control" will not "RESUME" after the car stops briefly.
E.g. stopping briefly at an intersection or traffic light, on moving off and getting back to cruising speed, the Cruise Control will not "Resume" to the last "SET" speed.
Seems like, if the wheels stop actually turning, the the Cruise control has to be "RESET" each time, to get back to the desired cruising speed.
All my other vehicles with Cruise control have been able to be brought back to the Last "SET" cruising speed just by pressing the "RESUME" switch.
I find this a little annoying. Mentioning it to the service people recently said it was normal. Although I suspect from the body language he did not actually know.

I don't have a Dmax at the moment, but thinking of getting one so am interested in this.
Is your vehicle manual or automatic??
Reason I ask is because my current vehicle is manual, and will not react to the "resume" command if I have changed gear (depressed the clutch".
My father in law has exactly the same vehicle as I do, but his is auto, and it does go back to the last set speed when "resume" is pressed.

I suspect this is to ensure better fuel economy and safety in take off from standing start Ie no wheelspin from start if road is slippery as the cruise control can stack the power on in some models.
You could read the owners handbook and it "may" have the info there for your specific model.

All my other vehicles in the past, that had Cruise Control would "Resume to the last set point speed" as long as you had, not switched the ignition "off" and then, of course on again.
I think it is standard for the Transmission Shaft Output to have to reach the set point Revs Per Minute, that equates to 40 Kph. in road wheel Rev.Per.Min. Before the Cruise Control can be SET or RESUME switch activated.
This one has to be reset to the desired Road Speed every time my Road Wheels stop turning the engine still running.
Handbook has nowt on this as far as I can see.
The D-Max we have is a Diesel, Automatic (The first Automatic I have owned) All my past vehicles have been manual. But I was driving Automatics in the USA in 1989 with Cruise Control and they were just normal like my future vehicles. (I was delivering Cars for Auto Driveaway) I decided at that time cruise control was a must for long straight roads like in the US and Australia.
I like the Dmax very much, does all I expected of it, and great Fuel Economy. But this Cruise Control issue is a minor irritation that I feel should not be there in a unit bought in the 21st century.
