Service for caravan near Eltham Victoria

Hello everyone,

Have just bought a 17' Jayco Sterling pop top privately. 2007 model, but the last five years has sat idle. In as new condition(outside needs good clean). However, Eltham(opposite side of Melb.) is approx 200 kms from Ballarat. (mostly freeway) and I have never owed or towed a van before. The previous owner says it has only done 100 ks since last service, but I noticed the rego ran out in 2009, so I think it has been sitting idle for five years. It looks like it!(cosmetic!).

I would like to get it serviced before I head off down the freeway, to make sure everything is O.K. So does anyone know of a caravan service place near Eltham?

A google search didn't bring up anything.

Thanks for your help.

p.s  any hints!

There is a Caravan repair service called ADP at Canterbury RD  Kylsyth,    I used them recently and they did my work OK. Don't know if you want to travel that far though

Just take it to a good mechanic close by and get them to repack the wheel bearings and go over the braking and wiring system. That's about all you'll need to get it home, as well as a permit to move it, so a roadworthy may be needed and to do that they have to check brakes, lights etc.
