Leaving Bundoora Dam yesterday morning we continued northward to Lake Elphinstone near Glenden, Qld arriving around lunchtime. Things have changed since our last visit here. Gone is the donkey hot water but additional toilet/shower blocks installed. Very nice units with excellent showers & flush toilets, albeit cold. A bonus is that the septic rubble drain located up near the roadside fence may no longer overflow. Once setup, we made a quick trip into Glenden to visit my son & very expectant daughter in law prior to us all meeting up again at Saunders Beach where they'll be residing in her fathers home for the next few months until the bub is settled properly. We'll leave here tomorrow for Bowen to visit Sandra's niece & her hubby for a day or two on our way to Townsville. Guess we've won the free campers lottery, 22 acres to camp on at Bowen then a large front yard at Saunders Beach Where we'll probably stay for a few weeks.
Even a three trailer road train wouldn't be a problem. Extremely large turning bay to get square on to the ramp, then tons of room to park in the camp area. Bring your own drinking water as the water for the showers, etc although clean is pumped from the lake.
Darrell & Sandra

Met another GN that comes here very regularly, Campfire (Cate) that asked to be remembered to all she'd met in the past. She's looking forward to hopefully catching up with John & Rod when they get here.

Hi Darrell thanks for the heads up in Solo's and I do remember Cate we had a few days together at Mission Beach.
Hi Cate would like to catch up, we will be heading from here towards the end of next month going north and will spend time at Lake Elphinstone. Expect to have a few months in North Queensland so we hopefully will meet up again.
