In Tasmania before I left, I bought Diesel for $1,579 liter. In Melbourne today I paid $1.527. I also noticed unleaded petrol was 13 cents liter cheaper in Melbourne !!

Diesel across the Nullabor is around $2.20 per litre

Welcome to the real world....
We drove 10,000km in Turkey last year.
$2.50 to $2.65/L for diesel, but probably more now.
