How to wire fairlane to run a thumper in the boot.

I would like to install wiring to run a thumper in the boot of my fairlane.

I guess I need heavy wiring and that it needs to come directly from the battery under the bonnet.

Is there a wiring diagram or can someone guide me through this.

You have been so helpful with all my other queries.  Cheers Mim

I guess your meaning a sub .. Amp under seat .. Depending on size etc follow instructions..
Yes a 4 guage wire to amp then wire to sub..Best to use shielded wire or run close to body away from other
electricals such as ignition etc.. The sealed box IMO is best..

 I think they are referring to a Thumper AUX battery. But hey, who knows, they could be talking about a fully sick tow vehicle.....

You wouldn't go wrong in buying a "ready-to-install" kit...
Plenty of them around.
Have a look at the latest REPCO catalogue - Page 8
"Projecta" Voltage sensitive relay kit.
Has all the bits and bobs you need there...
And an "instruction sheet" too...
All for $79...
Easy enough to do...

 That's a dual battery meter on page 8 Jed_03.

Some very rough figures would be: $100 to $130 for a smart isolator, $80 to $100 for some 6B&S cable to run to the battery, $25 for lugs, $50 to $100 for fuses or circuit breakers (depending what type you use) Then you have the cost of the battery, the battery box, DC outlets or Anderson plugs, some way of fixing the battery very securely to the vehicle.

The reason the figures are so rough is that different products cost different amounts, and there can be a huge variation in prices depending where you get them. Ebay is good if you know what you are looking for. Probably doesn't help you a lot, but it's a hard question to answer without going into specifics of what you want and and how capable you are of installing yourself.

What do you expect for that price..???
You get, like, 98% of what you need...
A Fuse-holder and Fuse would need to be added... ($7)... And (yes) you do need the tools to do the job...
Saves scratting around in Supercheap with a shopping list...
