Harvey Caravan Park WA

Has anyone stayed at the Harvey Caravan Park recently and if so could you let us know if it was an OK park as we are thinking of a couple of weeks there in April.

Stopped there for a night last September.

Very average with lots of permanents in old run down vans. Place needed a good clean up.

Sites were sandy, no slabs. Poor TV reception. Amenities were ok.

Cost for a powered site was $26

This is an older report from Badgers, one post says it does not have internet, another says it is ok if your provider is Telstra, see;

http://acpr.myparklist.com/reports.asp?park=2483

I was there a number of years ago and we enjoyed our stay, plenty to see in an around the town, make sure you visit Harvey Dam, not far down the road on the opposite side of the main highway, beaut picnic spot, good clean modern toilets and you can drive up to the top of the dam (bitumen) if you don't feel like taking the path.

Very pretty spot.  I have attached a couple of pic's of the caravan park and dam showing the outdoor theatre, me on stage giving a rendition of something to a group.   The Jayco and Xtrail were my RV's at the time.

Thanks Neil, I couldn't recall how it was when I was there (not even sure if I had a mobile then, certainly didn't have the internet..) smile

GWB, if the town park doesn't sound too good, you could try the Myalup Beach or Binningup Beach caravan parks, on the coast about 12km west of Harvey.
Saw an ad recently saying Binningup had reopened under new management.
I grew up in Harvey. Not a bad little spot.

Cheers, Tony

friends of ours are going to Binningup this weekend, we were there about 12 months ago and the wood fire pizza was to die for.

You also have Lake Brockman Tourist Park near Harvey, have drove passed it going to the dam but looked ok, check Badgers on it.

there web site states $14 pn per adult powered with concession available.

Thanks all for your help. We are leaving Queensland on Thursday to head for Pinjarra as our youngest son goes in for an operation early April so we guess there won't be much sightseeing on the way over, but then again we did this trip last year so we will try and catch up with the sights next time.
