Dickabram Bridge Update

Well for those of you who have fond memories of Dickabram bridge this week things are a little different.  A family arrived a few days ago - just dropped off with their belongings & the vehicle left.  This family comprises 2 adults (young), 2 kids (one a toddler the other a baby), 2 dogs, & some chickens in a coop.  They erected a smallish tent & spread their other belonging around.  The brief story told to Keith was that they had been staying on a friend's property since early last year but have now been evicted & have no where to go.  The place is beginning to look like a tip.  Apparently the tent leaks & we have had a few light showers of rain.  They are relying on another friend to come out here now & then & bring them some food.  The young chap has been going down to the river a few times a day & I think he is trying to catch a fish.  If they have to rely on his catch to eat then they are in big trouble.  I'm a bit worried for them but not sure how much to interfere.      On a lighter note yesterday we were visited by the Yehovahs Witnesses.  In this tucked away remote spot!!!   Cheers

Oh my god, that is the true definition of homeless.
Just what do you do in this situation.
Do you donate them some food, call authorities? It's a really difficult one.

Not a good situation at all. I spose the first reaction with many people would be to help in some way but the problem is if you do you could be making a rod for your own back and trouble in some way could follow. Maybe just keep an eye on the situation and see if and when anyone else there helps in some way and reassess then.

Thanks for advice. I'll adopt a watch & wait. See how things go.
