For under $10 you can get something like:

That would make a noise when the canopy was interfered with.

Can get the ones for windows, that are battery operated, quite cheaply - Jaycar and the like.

We have similar ones on our electric bikes, work a treat and can be adjusted for certain circumstances. When first used one, it was windy and the damn thing went of a couple of times until we re-set it.

Surely the canopy is bolted down and the windows can be locked by simply drilling a hole through the inside of the slider, put a small bolt or pin in it and the window is locked. Pull out pin when you need the window open and have it hanging on a string or wire for easy access.

Most thieves on the road are opportunists, so if they come across any resistance no matter how small when trying to get in, they will leave for an easier target. The longer they hang around, the more chance of them being seen and caught.

We have a one that has a motion sensor for inside RV's, can be mounted on Velcro or just free standing somewhere, it is battery operated and has a key pad for setting the code or turning it off. It has a delay when exiting and a short delay when re-entering to allow you to turn it off with the code. I think it was about $40 from Dick Smith.

We also have a couple of personal alarms that have a piercing noise when they go off, they operate by pulling a pin out (bit like an grenade) which has a string attached, they can also be set up so that if the string is attached and the alarm is secure they will go off if someone opens a door or window and pulls the pin out. The alarm can be reset and stopped by putting the pin back in...Also from Dick Smith, less than $20 I think from memory.

This product looks great, a bit expensive but guaranteed to work. I came across it ages ago and thought whoever is making it has made a brilliant product. Their website; http://canopylocks.com.au/about/ sorry don't know how to do clickables. also no affiliation here, just a google find. Seems some brands are remote central locking and some something else haven't really looked into it.

I'm pretty sure last time I was in Bunnings they had a good range of the cheaper ones (battery etc).
