Looking for House sit sites

Morning all. We are looking for a good house sit site due to problems experienced with the one we had set up for the end of May in Townsville.
Looking for some time off the road and out of winter preferably but not totally essential.
I have used Gumtree advertising myself and have had a couple of replies. We did get the one we have now from my advertising on Gumtree and a three month stint in this part of QLD with our own unit is lovely. Views of Cunningham gap/Great Dividing Range  from our unit magic.
Not close enough to a town to work or do any charity work although we are working here on a small produce farm.
We really need to line something up for the beginning of May though when this stint finishes.
Any suggestions most welcome please.

Have you tried the one on this site?  You can also post your own position wanted ad there too..

WE do house sits & are registered with WWW.housecarers.com. We find them good. There is a small annual fee though.

I have checked this one out thanks. I have been trying to put our request on as well but cannot find a place where I can add it. I have sent a request to this forum and asked but have not had a reply. How do I post my ad to this section please?

You could try these other 2 sites.

www.aussiehousesitters.com.au/home

mindahome.com.au

We just got a housesitter thru mindahome.

Agree with Vic and Kandagal.  We get all our sits via either Housecarers, or the classifieds on the Greynomads website.  You can send your "advertisement" to our Webmaster, Cindy on editorial@thegreynomads.com.au

She will place if for you.

if Cindy is away she may not see your email, just give it sometime and she will get around to it.

Hi we also do house sits and get ours through this site and also www.easyhousesitting.com and it is free for both parties as well. We have only had very good experiences with both of thsee sites so worth having a look.

can I ask where you want a house sit and for how long, the people we are house sitting for at the moment for the last two months asked us to stay on from beginning may  till about August but we have already got other commitments and we are just outside bundaberg, as they are still away I'm not sure if they got someone or not you would need your own van as they lock up the house but supply power and water  if you would like me to ask them I will and get back to you

cheers

Thanks Werkin. We are doing three months outside of Warwick  at the moment finishing beginning of May.
We have through a house sitting site one to start in July in Brisbane for a month.
Needing to fill the time in before then although have seen some people about a house in Brisbane for May and waiting to hear back to confirm dates.
We are not too fussed on the set up so are still looking. How far out of Bundaberg is your house sit Werkin?
Through this site and Gumtree we seem to get more replies and we cannot afford to join the more expensive sites but appreciate your giving me some names to check out. I have wasted money on a site that was of no use. ( not enough research done by me :) )
Finding three months in one place too long although I guess it depends where you are lucky enough to get that time.
Feeling isolated out here but it is lovely.

Thank you for your help on sites to check out people. Appreciated.

Can I please get to you when we talk to the Brisbane people? 10minutes isn't so bad.
Funny how we get itchy feet so soon. It's the qypsy in us :)
We took the van down to Ipswich and stayed for a few days and we both said how great it was to be back in our own home again. ( In a self contained unit on property here)
