Coromal Caravans

Last year a mate an I bought 2 new vans from Coromal 6.35mts.@ $60k. each and must say they

have gone backwards as far as quality goes, having previously had a 2006 model that was trouble-free.

Why would they instal a useless Dometic B3000 A/C in place of an Air Command Ibis (have already replaced

once and still inefficient in warmer weather ie.over 32deg.) I am replacing with Cormorant at present ($1650)

They are now fitting Truma A/C's which also makes you wonder after all the problems they are having

with the Truma HWS in these vans,my mate has already had 2 fitted and is now fitting a Suburban.

There are many other changes for the worst to these van's that you could not be expected to know until

you actually operate them, I could go on and on.

So Buyer Beware

Regards fitzy

Howdy Fitzy,

Don't worry, you are not alone with your problems in that particular brand of caravan,

We were in a Caravan Park in Geraldton on the West Coast recently, when a sudden storm hit,

Parked next to us was a six month old Coromal, I think it was around 25' long and looked very nice,

that was until the storm hit.

I noticed the owner running around like a headless chook, and the language wasn't great to hear.

As soon as the storm passed I was speaking to him and he told me that they bought the Van brand new in Brisbane,

they had travelled across the top to W.A. but had, had nothing but trouble all the way,

In his words, You name it and it has broken down.

His present trouble in Geraldton was the finish as far as he was concerned,

as the rain started, the van started to leak through the air conditioner,

the water spread through out the ceiling and ended up shorting out everything in the, ( as he described it ) total "heap of SxxT"

His final words were, he would never, ever, buy another Coromal again.

He told us that he had just got off the phone and had ordered another new caravan to be collected in three months time,

in Melbourne as they passed through,  one thing,......it was not another Coromal.

he also stated that after all the trouble they had, had, he didn't care what he was offered as a trade-in, "it was gone".

Not a good report on Coromals, but it's all true.

cheers   kiwijims

We purchased a 2nf hand Coromal, probably from the same dealer in Brisbane, and we have been very happy with the van and the service from the company.
Looks like Coromal have sold a couple of LEMONS.

Theres a lemon or two in most brands, but their after-sales service does make a huge difference.

I've met a couple of people who's Coromal van leaked around the front window and even though the dealer and manufacturer made quite an effort to fix them, one still leaks, the other sealed the window shut, and haven't heard from them since to find out if it was effective..

Coromal was on my list to buy,Looks like I had better scratch that one off, unless it is a pre 2006 model.
I wonder if the builders of these vans read this site.

Yeah Graeme have a good think about it, I could list another six problems with these Coromal vans

at least. One of the annoying faults is that the shower won't drain and you are always standing in

2 inches of water (they said it was a design fault) and nothing can be done about it.It takes 5-6min.

to remove after your shower which is a bastard every night.

I contacted Coromal H/office and they just said contact your local dealer, they weren't interested at all

really. My mate that I have previously mentioned has even had his entire ceiling replaced as it bubbles,

I will say they did fix that even though out of warranty. It just goes on.

Regards Fitzy

Disappointing to read
I myself have a 2007 Corvair 5.11 and have found it faultless
