There is power how do I check power to the element? where isthe reset for the thermostat?
Regards Brian
With all respect intended, if you need to ask how to check these things, it would be better if you don't attempt it. Electricity is quite unforgiving.
The reset for the thermostat is on the thermostat which is mounted on the tank, make sure the power is off before opening the cover. Give the reset button a very firm press and you may hear a click if it has tripped.
Other than this, get a suitably qualified person to check it all for you.

I agree about elctricity not only unforgiving but you can't see or hear it coming,
I didn't want to take the cover off because in the instructions there is next to no
info to be obtained, that is why Im on here talking with the people that use them.
(plus I m waiting for the van builder to contact me about warranty and I dont want to touch
it and stuff the warranty)
What your saying a sparky will check the power to the element and I can do the reset.
The van is in storage at the moment and Im going down there at the week end so Ill give it a
go then.
The Truma doesn't have a Thermostat Reset Button. You need to have a qualified electrician check the system out from the electrical on/off switch to the element.
If at some time the tank has drained of water the Element can burn out when the Power is switched on. Also if the Element has accumulated a build up of Calcium from Hard Water areas the Element can again also burn out.
Cheers Kev.
Hi
Good news I think, the caravan manufacturer called today saying they are chasing
up Truma for my warranty as they were reminded we mentioned the problem last year (Nov)
and again (Jan) this year when the van went back for some warranty work.
Becauseof the timing with the Melb caravan show and evryone being busy we said we would wait
until after the show to get fixed PROPERLY no need to rush it ,When we go to the show I will ask Truma myself !!!
I'll keep you posted if any thing happens before hand
To all who are looking at replacing their HWS, you can now get and instant/tankless HW unit that fits in exactly the same space as as Suburban and cheaper or the same price. This mean less weight as there is no tanks and also no need for an anode (I think). australianrvaccessories.com.au/new-products/
