NORTHERN MIGRATION SOON

Yep, I am now starting to think ahead a little and plan my 2014 Northern Migration.

My daughter has sorted out her problems that we have been working on for a few months now and moves into her new (to her) house next Tuesday with the kids. It's been a long few stressful months and I tell you that for free.

So after I get some measurements come down from Townsville to see if the Avan will fit down the side of the house so I can sleep in the Avan instead of out in the gutter, well in the Avan in gutter really, I can start planning the journey. Ooops, there's that dirty word (Planning). I prefer not to plan too much really and just wing it as I go.

Having said all that I might even have to high tale it up there real quick yet. Whatever happens I will probably be there until late August and start winding my way back south.

I will make time to polish the wombat scoop on my bull bar though smile

Oh! and try to avoid black cats while out and about biggrin

That's great Doug, glad it's sorting itself out, your daughters lucky to have a dad like you.

Yes the northern migration starts here in the West about April, May, June the same as on the East Coast, the interesting thing is when both lots meet up north in the same towns going in opposite directions but all looking for free camps or caravan parks at the same time (the "crossover") but all part of the experience.

With particular reference to "So after I get some measurements come down from Townsville to see if the Avan will fit down the side of the house so I can sleep in the Avan instead of out in the gutter, well in the Avan in gutter really,"

We can say we have camped off road in lots of places, including the Gold Coast, Newcastle, Canberra, Alice Springs, Onslow, Eildon, Lewiston, Napperby. All mentioned spots are in the gutter/on the driveway/on the footpath with relatives and friends.

How ever we really prefer off road Out in the donga, in Whooppee Weed, Out in the Sticks, or what ever you wish to call being out of the big smoke.

Mobi Condo, I will be there for a few months. If I camped out front all that time wombat will call me a gutter rat.

As long as I can get it off the road things should be OK.

CC, I will probably call in on way back down. Just hope your friends across the road will be friendlier than last time.

We too are off at the end of March but first must go south before we can head north and then down the west coast. Hope to see some of you out there.
