We just checked into a caravan park in Eden, booked it yesterday and viewed the site, thought everything was set. On arriving this morning found there had been a mix up and the site was no longer available. We were told to go and look at another site ( specific site number given) That suited us but when we got back to the office we were told we couldn't have that site as it was for people who had been coming many years....,apparently they get preference even though their van was actually on an adjacent site. So we went walking again and eventually found a site that was suitable to all parties. I am battling a mild disability but had to walk the park several times. Can only imagine how they treat people with much greater disabilities. The office person who said she was the owner made no attempt to apologise for the mix up, at times being quite aggressive, we mentioned that it would help to solve the problem if she lowered the aggression levels but apparently it was our fault for not listening to the site numbers she had told me!
What a pity because the location is lovely...it might be time for her to think about the fact "that you only get one opportunity to make a first impression". We were going to stay a week but two days may be enough for us....free choice camping is looking better and better.
That's why we are here Gerty, a bit of a worry to make our way down to East Gippsland which is where we were heading, thought we would bide our time here for a while until the fire danger eases, cheers capricorn
Well C and P found a great caravan park just out of Eden at Boyd Town, we're staying here tonight after a lovely day of laughing and enjoying the company and this beautiful place. Very roomy, no lines of caravans, there's a group with a campfire going, all very friendly. the beach is just over the dune... ahhh! the serenity!
