Hi Tony. The photo I posted shows as Mother Teresa, however it was pointed out to me that this photo I posted is NOT Mother Teresa. Check out on Snopes. I posted the photo with good intentions, so even if it is not Mother Teresa, it is !!!!! Over to you Tony.

Hi Tony that surprised me as it did you so I did a bit of Googling and it is Tran Anh Phuong apparently there is a mistaken rumour going around the net that she is Mother Teresa as a teenager but she is an American Missionary who lived in Vietnam and died in Virginia on April 2008

Sorry Ian wrong singer. This guy had a beautiful voice he was the lead singer of a group of 5 singers in total for about 6 or 7 years and then went out on his own. The group had 4 lead singers over the years and this guy is referred to as the original lead singer though there was one before him who started in 1953 and left in 1953. The guy pictured sang all the songs that the group was famous for and his voice in my opinion is up there at the top of the best of the best.

No Tony, the group that he sang in consisted of 4 males of which he was one and one female. All were singers not musicians. They had the magic touch

Samuel E. "Tony" Williams (April 5, 1928 August 14, 1992)[1] was the lead singer of the Platters[2] from 1953 to 1960.[3] Williams was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and died in New York of emphysema.[3] He had an older sister, Linda Hayes.

The Platters were discovered and managed by Buck Ram.[2] On the Mercury record label 45rpm release of the Platters' song, "My Prayer," Williams was listed as Tony Wilson.[citation needed] In a dispute over money, Williams left the Platters to pursue a solo career, and continued to work with Ram.[4]

Williams was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Platters in 1990. Tony performed with his own version of the Platters, known as the International Platters, featuring his wife Helen Williams. Musical Director William Gulino worked with Tony Williams and the Platters off and on from 1978 to 1992.
