Chips RaffertyMBE (26 March 1909 27 May 1971) was an Australian actor. Called "the living symbol of the typical Australian",[1] Rafferty's career stretched from the 1940s until his death in 1971, and during this time he performed regularly in major Australian feature films as well as appearing in British and American productions, including The Overlanders and The Sundowners. He appeared in commercials in Britain during the late 1950s, encouraging British emigration to Australia.[2]

Hi Tony & Bev . No not Walter Lindrum . The stick in the photo is a flag on a golf course . Nothing to do with sport really , he was in an advertising campain in the 60's , selling a very popular Australian invention . I think he used to sing Zip-Hip-Hooray .
That's him Sheba , I remember he used to sing a song , I though it was something like Zippy ad De Do Da , don't remember what else he used to do , he was on other shows as well , I think . Met him once at his place in Sydney , went there will my then girlfriend and her parents , that knew him . Zippady do da over to you Sheba .
