Just a question to clarify dump points, I have always assumed they were for black water only, but my sister who is a member of the CMCA has told me you also put your grey water in them as well. Which is probably why when I come across a full one I have to wait for about an hour before I can empty my toilet cassette. This is also strange as this will mean the water in the dump is going to ground. Will be interested in what other people have come across and whether grey water should be put in the black water dumps
To the best of my knowledge, these are plumbed into the sewerage system and therefore do not "go to ground". Therefore, any liquid (grey or black water) put into them would be into the sewerage system. I would not think they are exclusively for "black water".
I cannot comment on encountering a "full one" because I have never found one that gave any indication that it was 'full'. I have come across some that were broken/damaged but no indication they were 'full'.

I agree with John (RL) - the dump points are plumbed to the sewerage system I believe. So you could put grey water in as well. Don't see how you would have to wait before putting black water in - the only possible reason would be something solid blocking the pipe - and I would imagine that may have come from "black" water, not being broken down. Ours is almost liquid most times, by the time we empty it.
The only one I have ever seen that was "full" was actually overflowing, in Coober Pedy - flowing over the road actually - and it is situated right outside the council work depot!!!! Go figure!!!

In areas where there is no sewerage, they could utilize the septic tank system. Overuse could certainly fill them up as well as flooding from constant heavy rain as mentioned.

Thanks for the replies, and John(RL) that the one, had to remember the ones we came across, the first was in Morgan so as has been said could have been blocked, but the other was at the Baxter rest area and I would say that isn't connected to the composting loo and was going lower early next morning. But now at least I know I can if need to put both black and grey in the dump So again thanks all for the info
Keith encountered a full one last week at the Maroochydore water treatment plant. It overflowed when he used it. He reported the disgusting condition to someone in the office (you had to go to the office first to get a key)
