Well finally it's happening, we have purchased or new rig (new to us any way) a 35ft Forrest River Copper Canyon 5th wheeler & a NQR 450 Crew Cab Isuzu truck, & are looking forwards to getting on the road, we probably will not be permanently on the road for about 18 months but will do some travelling in the mean time.
I have a question for all you people on the road, do any of you have Foxtel in your rigs, I rang them & told them that we would be moving to another address & was informed that it was illegal to have Foxtel in any form of caravan, bus etc & had to close our account as that their boxes had to remain at a fixed address.
Has anyone heard of or had this problem & been able to get around it.
that is a very nice looking rig. I am envious of the space and facilities you have. It looks like you even have a shed on the truck!!
If you read the T&C's of your foxtel contract they do state that you may not move the box without their knowledge and approval.
that said, we take ours with us and have been doing so for more than 10 years. Ours is registered to our home address.
If you have no home address there are ways and means of overcoming that.
A relative with an existing satellite service can apply for a second box installation. YOU pay for the install and half the bill for the entire service(to be fair) and simply take the second box with you on the road.
you will need to purchase some equipment such as a sat dish and mounting, some cables, a sat finder and an LNB. if you look at these sites there is good gear, good after sales support. www.satplus.com.au www.satgear.com.au www.accessantennas.com.au
hope that helps

Thanks for that Frank, the box behind the cab was a workshop but we will be insulating it & having it air conditioned so our dogs can travel in it, we have show dogs.
