Hi Clarence,
you are very right, a lovely place to visit. I lived there and done all my schooling in the district, primary at Wyangala Dam & high school in Cowra. I remeber when the Japanese Gardens were being built & first opened.
I went back there in August as my mum still lives there & was very impressed with the improvements that they are making to the Prisoner of War Camp area, no one ever went out there as it was a dirt track and not really visitor friendly ( only the young locals used it as an area to get together when they shouldn't of been together ), now they have put in a road to get there and made it quite informative. They have also linked it as a information trail with the War Cemetery & other things.

Already live in Paradise but would like to see much more of this great country.
Lovely photos, Clarence. I was too dumb when I worked at Young in the late 60s to appreciate the local area and the history of Cowra. I'll make it my business now to visit and catch up.

===========================
I was at Cowra about 5 years ago, loved the Gardens, and did go out to the Internment camp site, but as you say, back then it needed a Lot of work, The visitor centre was running a very informative show, using a Girl in Period costume, She was doing the presentation as a '' Hologram'' ?? I think you call it ?? It was just a Projection of the Girl walking around and telling you all about the history of the area, and the camp, Especially the Breakout ?? will go back for a few days when in the area for sure,
yep ya all on the rite track i recon you could spend 12 mths around there and not see it all i lived at canowindra and murga going back when we retire i gota show della the sites
