What about Kiama or Batemans Bay. There is a nice boat Cruise at BB, going up and back on the Clyde River.

Oh, you could even visit MY club at BB, The 'Soldiers Club'.

I suggest Mungo Brush in Myall lakes National park right on the lake and can walk to surf beach.
There are also many lovely caravan parks on Lake Macquarie only about 1 hour from Sydney also a number of parks on the Tuggerah lakes system again about 1 hour from Sydney.
Cheers
David

Ellenborough camps 7 nsw 300 about 400 k north of Sydney, west of port Macquarie is a great spot, not sure how busy it is over the holidays.
Toilets no power and the water in the river is clear enough to drink

Try Milton Showgrounds, south of Nowra, just near Ulladulla......power, water, toilets, plenty of space for the kids to play & 3/4 minutes to beach and all for $18 per night....gets my vote !!

Camped at Kangaroo Valley free camp.

Great spot, but one hell of a drive up and down narrow windy road, but the end result is worth it.
