Where is everybody going?

We live in an area of mostly retired folk and the general topic of conversation when you meet a friend in town starts with "when all the kids go back to school we......."  then a description of what the plans are for the coming month/ year/ season etc.  So what is everyone planning for this year, where is everybody going?  just interested that's all!

   cheers   Capricorn

Heading to SA for a few months when this heat wave buggers off, then up to the murray to follow it down back thru vic over winter.
Going thru central vic during next spring and having summer back at the SA coast next year.
Thats the 12 month plan, but thing are always getting modified.

Thought I was going to WA but that may not be happening now, so have thought about doing the eastern seaboard in winter and watch some rough seas hopefully. Cheaper than flying to Canada, to a place called Tofino, to do the same.
Of course this all subject to change.

Well I am on my way to Tamworth, tonight I am camped at Gulgong Showgrounds in a shady spot along with a 5th wheeler and a caravan, both make 'pawsaroundoz' look rather small! Tomorrow night I will be in a freebie camp not too far out from Tamworth so as I can easily get in to the CMCA camp area early and get set up before it gets too hot. Annie and 'the boys'

In Cobram Vic but leaving just after Australia day to head back along the Murray then over to SA and the Eyre and York peninsular's then back across the Nullabor to our home state, doing a block sit for friends near Mandurah then up to Shark Bay for winter.

Basic plan but no plan really we go where it pleases us.

Excellent Jules! We'll keep posting our location, as you do, so there'll be a great meeting somewhere!

I'd ask everybody who would like to meet up with others to post their location/route. The bumper stickers may be seen too late as somebody's going past.

I will be doing the same, heading west. Going up to Qld over the next month, meeting up with Jules and Billeeee and a few others to go across the top.
Before then, leaving here in Geelong on Saturday, heading back up north Victoria including calling into Greens, as need to catch up with a couple of GNs there who I need to chat to.
So NSW over February, Qld over March, April and then west.

OK perhaps this is a good time for me to come out of the closet so to speak. This year I'm thinking to give up nomadding. Yup truly. Right now I'm planning to buy a place in a caravan park (yes, I know and have considered all the arguments against it) so that I can do 'normal things' like join a library, take some u3a courses and go to a doctor more than once. I know it all sounds boring but I've been travelling now for nearly 20 years - in Aus for the last 4 years - and I have a hankering to see if I can stay in one place. So as soon as the kids go back to school I'm going to drive to Batemans Bay and start looking for suitable accommodation in suitable towns (I have a list of criteria) I'll be heading north from BB. Right now my favourite place is Nambucca Heads but that could well change. Once I've got myself sorted out I'll let you all know so that you can all drop in for a cuppa - also on my list of 'normal things' is a decent coffee maker.

Wow! congratulations nomadic1 on your decision - after 20 years, it will be different to be in one place, but you are looking at a beautiful part of the world - so good luck in finding somewhere, just perfect for you.

Hope to meet up when you get yourself settled. Good luck!!!

I didn't know you were in the closet Lynda. biggrin

Nice choice if you decide on Nambucca Heads.  Batemans Bay is nice too as is Byron Bay. I will be cruising that area sometime this year again.
