Fiat Ducato tail lights/number plate lights

Jayco conquest on Fiat Ducato base, tail lights.

Had a situation where had one tail light out on conquest, replaced it with another bulb, and while doing that checked number plate lights, found two of the three festoon bulbs black, gave one to the wife and asked for three replacements when she went into town. Next day replaced all three and went to cab and switched on to test all my good work only to find that only middle festoon was working, took all to bits again and reset them in holders and checked again, no tail lights and only middle festoon, had wife check break lights, reverse and indicators and all were working. Fault indicator came up on dash with icon and wording check right side lights, check left side lights. Side lights/ clearance lights were all working, was only both tail lights and left and right number plate light not working. Rang my Fiat man in Hobart who asked if I had put in LED's which was a negative. As I was going to Hobart for our service put it on the to do list.

When I picked up the vehicle he gave me my three festoon globes back, and had put on the tax invoice in bold, DO NOT USE GREATER THAN 5 Watt GLOBES for plate lights. The ones supplied as my replacements from the auto shop were 10 watt. "Globes ain't globes"

Appear that power is balanced through the vehicle computer system and computer said two much drain , something wrong "shut down"

Maybe this will help others who have bulb issues, check wattage etc of replacements.

Bob

A 10 watt is to high for any no/plate light. Normaly a 5watt.

 Aint that the truth;

I walked into Repco here long time back with a sample of a festoon & ordered two, so he walks out the front area & grabes a blister pack of 2.on pc & $xxxx.

I not paying that amout, being in the trade for many yrs we allways had a bulk box, so I told him there would be a bulk box on the shelf behind him,

So you want then out of a box,disbeliefnodisbeliefno, WTF, dont care what they come out of not paying for packageing. Back on the PC @ $ 50% less, thats ok.

NOW, do you realise why I dont want a blister pack?????????confuseconfuseconfuseconfuseconfuseconfuseconfuseconfuseconfuseconfuseconfuseconfuse He could not see the point.disbeliefno
