Gloucester, RV Friendly or not?

Have heard that this town is not very friendly towards RV's, any feedback would be good.

Not sure what you want, but Gloucester is a great little town, with a nice van park on the river within walking distance to the main street. Takes pets.

Close to lots of free camps and the national park if that takes your fancy.

Dump point in the CP near the river (costs $2 but hey !)

Thanks, plan to visit in winter, see the snow on the Barrington Top N/P.
Also heard that there is good camping at Cobark, a few k's out of Gloucester, on a cattle property, not sure of the price but will check out.

We were in Gloucester recently and stayed at the caravan park. We liked the park and the town was a nice little place to stay for an overnighter although some areas of the park was a bit wet underfoot due to storms. The next day we drove to Barrington tops via the property of Cobark. We stopped and enquired and I think from memory it was $15/night and you could camp anywhere along the creek. We would have stayed if we had known about it the night before but we needed to push on. The drive up Barrington Tops is quiet steep in parts and very pretty. There was a storm brewing so we did not stay at Blue Poles camp.

Hope that helps
