In this Months Wanderer there is a letter to the editor warning members of the dangers of driving a Hino Rainbow once fitted out on a Car Licence..
The one in the article is an Aust Delivered RB145K...
With only 4 seats and a full tank of fuel it weighed 4480kg leaving only 20kg before it reaches the licence limit of 4500kg's..
So once you add the driver it is already over the limit even before it is fitted out...
This mat also be the case for some other brands of motorhomes like the Toyota Coaster and the Mazdas and the Nissans...
My advice is to take your rig as soon as possible to a council tip and have it weighed (Some will charge you a small fee others wont)..
IF it is over the limit..
Then decide what you need to do to make yourself legal if you only have a Car Licence:- up grade your licence to a Light Rigid which allows you to drive up to 8t or get a smaller unit..
With the SWB Coaster , I think the specs are 4470 Kg but with 20 passengers , Mine weighs around 3500Kg decked out. Makes it hard for the wife to drive though for the larger vehicles.
