Hi Campers, Just spent a lovely Christmas few days at a popular CP in Buronga... right on the river side... Beaut, been there several time - until a couple turned up with 3 kelpies. Small block and 3 dogs.... One of the dogs seemed restless and barked at anything that moved. The owners said last year the dogs were worse... Why do people think it's OK to come to a CP knowing their dogs are/going to be a nuisance? The next day, on the other side of us, a couple turned up with a small terrier. First time I clapped my eyes on their dog, it was chasing the resident ducks along the river front scattering them... The terrier was not on a leash... One duck had a broken wing and could not fly, probably someone's dog? But at least the first couple had their dogs tethered all the time - great fun for the dogs... We have stayed in hundreds of CP's and dogs have not been a problem, but usually we do not go away on public holidays so usually encounter grey nomads - who keep their dogs under control... What's with younger folk who seem to have no thought about others around them - in a packed CP....? The third encounter was with another small terrier not leashed - we were out for an evening stroll when it came rushing at us barking and snarling... Three encounters with dogs and all unpleasant... We are now considering not staying in that CP again, although it is my favourite stay... Note to self.... don't go away on public holidays...? Jay-Jay
Hi Campers, No didn't get to Greens Lake - popped into Aysons Reserve and it was lovely and quiet. So decided to stay the night. Had shady spot right next to boat ramp so took out kayak, just had to look out for tree stumps. There were about 12 other campers, some had been there weeks. No dogs there. Really nice, ducks, pelicans, other water birds, lovely sunset and starry night. - after reading about Greens Lake - it was a good decision Jay-Jay
We found a beautiful campsite in NW WA, but there was a caravan and tent set up there with a big sign in front that read "If you don't like dogs or generators, don't camp here" Sure enough, 4 little Jack Russells all yapping, and genny going. I think they really wanted the place to themselves, and started the genny, got the dogs to bark when they saw us coming!
BCF. But sometimes would rather have the well behaved dogs than the well behaved children.
Before it came on BCF, Sue and I where camped at Cob @ Co park at Charleville in 2010 and a poet and his wife did a gig in the kitchen. His poem was about deterring other campers, same, as well as a fake domestic....LOL

Not sure what you are on about Jay-Jay.
We have had and are still having a most wonderful time at Greens Lake even though Ive had a heavy dose of flu for the last 4 days.
More nomads have arrived today, what a fantastic sight.

Each to his own I suppose - I didn't like Aysons, bit too closed in for me maybe, I love the openness and looking out my window to see the sunrise - just beautiful!!
Don't know what you are saying about reading about Greens Lake - don't know what you mean? We are all having a great time, a great mix of people, new and old friends - had a terrific New Years Eve - sitting around the campfire, till midnight when the fire ban came into place. Lots of conversation, a few drinks, Sandra provided whistles and sparklers - there were fireworks from some of the camps, and a great light show over the water at the Eastern point.
Happy New Year, by the way!
