Been awhile since I've been there, but do the skyrail one way and the train the other, either way, these leave from Cairns and go up to Kuranda, or catch and do the return trip to Kuranda.

There are caravan parks around Cairns you could stay at or there is one at Kuranda, we stayed there, I think it was mostly permanents there but some time ago now.

The skyrail and train trip is a must.  Make sure you go within the hours and book within enough time for your return.

a lot to see up there , even have a "goony bird" at Mareeba airport , worth a Kodak moment .

I've only been up that way in a Semi , but have seen a lot up that way though . worth going .

Stayed at the Woodlands Tourist Parl 2 years ago, great park, lots of wild life, close to Atherton and the must see Herberton Historic Village. Plenty to see and do

Hey guys, we spent more than a month in the tablelands last year and loved it. So much to see but don't rush it.

enjoy the experience.
