we are in a great park just nth of miles ,it is called -POSSUM PARK very clean at ensuites and very good staff my oxy machine batteries gave the ghost up on Christmas day the park owner got me two d type batteries and would not take a cent for them ,they even ask us to there Christmas lunch every thing is spotless all the best fred
FPW, great to hear that you have found a great place but can you get a bit closer in the location. We are in Esperance at the moment and wouldn't have the foggiest where Miles is or from but would put it onto a should.might.must visit list that I might/should/will start at sometime.
Well, I hope you've all had a better Xmas than me. Everything was going beautifully on Xmas eve. I was getting nicely full of Xmas Spirit and Fort Battle-Axe (the missus), was being almost nice when suddenly everything went berserk. There's no way I'll ever try to be romantic again !
You know that old tradition about kissing under the mistletoe? Well, whilst feeling that warm and fuzzy Xmas cheer, I thought, why not bury the hatchet and give the old girl some of that long forgotten love and attention that's been missing for so long.
WRONG !!!
Suddenly I was on the floor in agony after she smashed me across the room with a dynamite left hook that could have killed Muhammad Ali ! I ask ya', is it really so bad if a bloke has a few drinks and gets his expressions mixed up ?
All I said was ..... "Hey darl', how would you like a big sloppy kiss under the cameltoe?"
hi sorry should have said that possum park is 25ks north of miles which is in queensland ,great park we have booked for another few days and we will be back in here later in the year on ore way back home from our trip south ,all the best from fred
Would have to totally agree with you. It is a magic spot stuck in the middle of virtually nowhere. Yes the township of Miles is west of Toowoomba on the Warrego H'way ( If it is a H'way) heading towards Roma. Possum park is on the road to Wandoan turn right a few KLMs west of Miles
Fred,
Does Management still have the Darcy Doyle 12 paintings on the wall in the entertainment hall. Worth the trip just to see the paintings.
FYI folks,
Possum Park is now unused Army ammo bunkers cut in the hill side, which were used to store ammo and supplies to defend the north of Australia from the possible invasion of the Japs.
This formed part of the Brisbane Line, which the government of the day were prepared to defend to the north and stop the Japs. from invading further south ( or something like that) Google Brisbane Line for a more expert appraisal.
But Possum Park, a great stop and well worth a visit.
