The last days of the VW Kombi as we know them are coming to and end. Production line in Mexico the home of the Kombi and VW Bug since they stop making them in Germany is closing . The can't design it to take ABS or airbags so it's run has come to an end . Sad Day

Some times the cost to implement the changes is not worthit, especialy if the sales volume isn't there. A classic was Subaru Brumby utes here in Aus, wasnt worth worth the design costs to meet the pollution regs, & not enough sales.
I owned a '64 split screen Kombi with rear drop down spur gears, could nearly go anywhere.
Always wanted a VW "schimmwagon" after I say one in Victoria. It had been imported and too dear for me on an Apprenticeship.
