Extra support for the car seat?

Hi,

The passenger seat of our Prado isn't very comfortable and makes my back and legs ache. The drivers seat is better, so I am guessing whoever had the car before was a heavier person and maybe flattened the cushioning of the seat.

So my question is...

Do you use any extra support on your seat on the long trips?

thanks

Grams

it doesnt matter if anyone else uses extra support. if you need it you need it. Clark rubber have a foam wedge that my wife uses to lift her a little higher in the seat or there are any number of cushions etc marketed with cutout where tail bone fits which i believe are very good. we also use net type lumbar support from $2 shop. as well as lumbar support they allow air between your back and the seat which is a bonus.

Thank you. I was looking for what other people used, and what they recommended for the car. I'd like something that had a lumbar support. I have been looking, but I haven't found anything yet.

Net lumbar supports from auto shops, I have one and it is quite comfortable, I have always said that passenger seats should be different to the drivers seat, we do have different sitting positions, but nobody listens, Pat

If you suffer from back problems it can be hard to find a comfortable position. I for one fit this bill.

I drove a ford focus at the weekend for 900kls, I had cramps behind the thighs most of the time.

IF you intend to keep the tug for extended time & are travelling it may be worth looking at some replacement seats of a good quality. These have to be fitted & engineered  & endorsed on your rego as to comply with ADR. I done this on a couple of vehicles many years back.

As for verious supports, cushions etc that you have to reposition each time you get in & out are a short term fix. Our new tug has the ISRI truck seats, normal back & forth adj, rake, then two height adjusters which means the seat moves up/down front & rear, like steps so it changes the swab angle. Once you have that set then adjust the spring suspension to match you weight. When set right means your vehicle moves up & down under your seat.

These have been a God send to my back.smilesmilesmilesmile
