12v fans

Purchased two Sirroco Caframo 12v fans from Whitworth Marine - $139 ea (on special till14th March 2014) - they come with wiring to either hard wire or attach plug - all installed this morning by Oldboar (thanks heaps Darrel) - what a huge difference in the van!!!

Should be great, especially the one near the bed!!!

Bob - one is on the wall behind drivers seat, so it blows over the dinette. The other is on the panel next to kitchen sink - on the bed side. The work a treat!!!

Ha - knew you wouldn't go to Spotlight with Rhonda!!!!!  Just like Billeeeeeee - he reckons they should put a coffee machine and seats out front for "patiently waiting men?"!!!!!!!biggrin

I installed a 12 volt Caframo in March this year, very quiet, multi speed, timer and very low current draw.

Another thread here with info and pics. http://aussiemotorhomers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=999

Mr Glassies - the fans are very quiet - sitting here right next to one on low speed, and so cool - the air just flows nicely - Billeeeeeee had a good sleep this afternoon with the fan wafting over him - said it was very comfortable. Well worth the money spent!

Hi Jules and "COOL Biillleee"

Have ordered one of these on your recommendation. Hope to call in prior to New Year on way to my sons for a family get together.

Have a great Christmas and all the best to the Greens Lake Gringo's.

Regards Chris and Joy

We have had one of those Sirroco fans for a few years. They are a great fan and well worth the money.
Ours is mounted on a solid block of wood so we can move the fan to where we want it both inside and outside the van (we have 12v Hella points everywhere, LOL).

I bought one about 18 months ago again on special at $149 and after that time it expired. (I think due to exposure to Talcum powder) Don't ask.

I took it back under warranty and got a brand new one that I have just reinstalled.

No problems at all, I had the receipt and it was replaced. I spoke to the sales guy at Whitworths and he told me that they get very few back and I'm inclined to believe him. Looks like even if it expires again in 18 months to two years it will have been money well spent.

I have mine in the rear bedroom to help move the air from the aircon around and it works a treat, also as a stand alone fan. Good product, does the job well. Like others I would recommend them.

Doug - you can go on the Whitworths Marine website and get them, or they are in Elizabeth Street, Melbourne - they sell all things marine. Have stores all over Australia. When you purchase something, they send their "cattledog" to you.

Got my 2 fans from here:- www.suremarineservice.com/cart.aspx if anyone's interested.

Aprox $82 each plus freight and very quick delivery

When going through the checkout there is an option for different freight levels, I just used the cheapest. Mine cost me around $179US all up for 2 fans delivered last year.

We have 2 in our van but they are not fixed as that way we can move them to where ever we want. I can't take a photo of how we use them as our van is in storage. We also have two fixed ones in our camper. They're brilliant, quiet and so very effective.
