Out of the Melb. rat race

What a harrowing drive to get out through the Melbourne traffic & head north.  So glad to leave all that urban area behind.  The job with our gas tank took only 1 day instead of the 2 they had predicted because of all the prep work that Keith did.  Because of the modification Keith had done the tank could come straight out sideways & the vehicle didn't have to be lifted up at all.  This meant we didn't have a night without our motorhome as was expected.  We had received such a kind offer from George57 to stay at his place for the night.  Unfortunately we couldn't then do this because once the motorhome was given back to us (late on the first day) we had to go as there is nowhere to park up a large motorhome so close to the city. Disappointed not to spend some time with George & his offer of accommodation was very much appreciated.  Thank you George!!

Now we are Laanecoorie for a while (until Keith has his specialist appointment on the 17th.).  Very nice here - on the river, flush toilet, drinking water taps. - donation required.  Keith will probable do some fishing.  Apparently yellow belly is being caught.   Cheers Alice

Hi there folks,

Just read your article and understand where you are comming from at wanting to get out of Melb.

However we are often in the Melb. area and we always park in an industrial estate in Coburg Nth, which is 1 k from the daughters place.

Never any trouble as there is a "place of late night male entertainment" just around the corner and the estate is often patrolled by the police.

Its a quiet 'club' and never any bother to us parked there. So if that ever occurs again....check out a quiet industrial estate as the streets are always wide enough to house my bus.

Cheers.

See you on the highways.
