There are so many elderly who have been separated from the people they care about especially the young family members, through no fault of their own. Regrettably there is a heck of a lot of parental alienation and that extends to grandparents as well. Some have no family to speak of, or at least none who care.
It is a time for all who are alone or feel isolated through circumstance, misfortune or ill-health to know that while they feel alone, they are not forgotten and we are thinking of them. We are one humanity.
One of the truly delightful and rewarding features of this site for example, is the number of folk who are always on the front foot to reassure and help. They mean it too. At Xmas we should also remember them too and give thanks.
Just finished decorating the tree. My grandchildren helped so there is nothing on the top half of the tree.
But by golly the bottom is remarkable.
