We have just booked our ferry crossing to Tassie for 29th Dec.
Can anyone recommend a dog friendly caravan park near the port. Our departure is 9am so we are going to have to be close as possible. If anyone has some tips it would be greatly appreciated. We have been googling it but not much luck so far.
Cheers Jill

Sundowner Rockbank Caravan Park is situated only 30km west of the Melbourne CBD. and just a few minutes from the suburb of Melton. We are the closest and most convenient park to the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry, which is just 30 minutes drive from our park. Our large, spacious sites can accommodate the largest buses and trailers, and we are pet friendly too! (on sites only)
Hope this helps Jill . Good luck and have great tassie trip .
I would give yourselves a lot more than 30mins to get to Port Melbourne with a van in tow ,you will go on the freeway and if there is a holdup you will" miss the boat" so to speak,if it was me travelling from Rockbank I would allow 3-4hrs to be sure so you can get parked and have a coffee

I agree turbopete , better to have plenty of time than not enough ... I just copied that post from the Rockbank caravan site . @ passin_thru all the best .
Thanks for the replies to my post and all the help. Have taken the option of staying at Werribee South Park. And yep we are really going to have a very early start to the day indeed with ferry leaving at 9am!! It was the earliest date/booking available for a rig our size, plus dog. Right now we are camping at a beautiful spot at the Rocklands Reservoir. Lovely view of the Grampians
Thanks for suggestions .
