I suspect that more information regarding the length of overhang between the rear wheels and the proposed location, the overall size and weight of the bus, whether it is rear, front or mid engine, etc. is required. All of these parameters regarding weight distribution would influence such a decision.

As would the dimensions of the batteries and the space available to put them.. We mostly mount stuff in the only suitable place for it ..
Kerb weight of 3.1 to 3.5t Wheel base of 3.9m Rear over hang unknown..
Battery dimensions
- Term H - 272mm - Length - 262mm - width - 181mm
Most likely configuration at this stage is 2x2 so 262 +262 [Plus Gap] = 524mm+ for length 181+181[Plus Gap] = 362mm+ for width..
Hope this helps you..

So when you have the bus you will be able to look at all the locations available to you to put them and all the other things you want to have on or in it..
I think you are trying to cross too many bridges before you come to them..
Maybe with all the things you are looking at having you need to buy a 12mtr double decker bus and get a licence to drive it..
