Our first real trip

Hi all, I have just been trying to cath up on all the goss and happenings on the site, especially with all the ...... Lovely people (aka nutters at greens). We have been off the air for a whole8 days, we thought a real test of of our setup and limitations. We have been to Walhalla in Victoria, no phone no internet no power, no nothing really except great people and a great environment.

we had a real mix of weather rain, hail wind and sunshine, as I said a real test. We supplemented our water needs with wTer from the stream we had a campfire every night and we got six days out of our one house battery and solar panel, that was running fridge wEco freezer lights water pump, tv and DVD When it was hailing I think we did well.

the only real problem was water leaking between the Fiamma awning and the MH, it just streams down the side of the MH as though there is no sealing there at all, is this normal? does anybody gave suggestions on how to fix it. We have just checked into the Sale caravAn park to r harge, do the washing and restock then off again.

its not greens lake but it is now our life!!!

Love Walhalla - haven't been there for years - glad you are having a great time.

Sounds like you did well with your power - good on you!
As for us nutters at Greens Lake - the more the merrier - we are having a Melbourne Cup Day lunch tomorrow - all doing something towards it - should be fun - g oing to run a sweep as well, and wear hats - the fancier the better!!!!!!

Keep on enjoying, Poppy.

You should not have that water problem with your awning. Can you take pics of the area where awning and motorhome body meet, and post them? Someone here may then have suggestions. I know that water does not leak down where our awning fits onto bus.

Goodonya Poppy, you are very successful nomads already, found a great spot, free-camping, dealing with all different weathers, and posting wonderful pictures to make us all jealous!
Enjoy!
