RACV What level of roadside assist

Hello Judy,it all depends on what weight your motor home is.The RACV will not support motor homes over a particular weight(i believe it is 4 tonne),so ask the right questions when you inquire. I had a flat tyre on my motor home and the RACV would not attend even though I had the highest level,so I rung for Fiat assist and they despatched  help,  and guess who showed up,the  RACV. I joined the Winnebago club and have road side assist with them. cheers Peter

What level of roadside assist do people with motorhomes consider the best. I am in Victoria so I guess it will be RACV.

Double Double check RACV (like NRMA) as they have a length and weight limit and most motorhomes are outside this limit. Winnebago RV Club offers a Roadside Assist package but it does have some restrictions otherwise I know of nothing out there

Judy ,my motorhome is a Jayco(5000 kg) and is covered by the Winnebago roadside assist. You will need to join their club to access the roadside assist at an extra cost. It is not expensive and well worth joining plus you get other additional benefits.  May be worth a phone call to enquire    1800 258 278.  cheers Peter

Thank Peter

My vehicle is over 10yrs old so they will not register it.

I can get roadside assist with NRMA for $359 for 12mths..........looks like they may be the only ones RACV wont do it.

Just Rang RAA in Sth Aus and they will cover for just under $200 with $220 limited towing....

Judy,
Not sure about RAA support re Tyres and breakdowns if you are interstate with your Sprinter, could well be length/height restrictions say with NRMA. Suggest That Ken Tame Insurance will help out with Breakdown towing as well, as $220 will not get you that far, But you would need to be a CMCA member for KTI, and also need to confirm the above..

Thanks all......went with NRMA as they had the extra cover for heavy vehicle based on GVM weight. so it was premium cover $182 as well as new membership $55 and also Premium Plus for the heavy cover $122.

In Vic it will be the RACV that  come and in QLD the RACQ

I have NRMA premium cover and it was recently a godsend. the towing cost alone would have been near $5000.00

for vehicles up to 10 tonne they have premium plus cover.

I will not travel without it now

it is great peace of mind to have that level of assistance when you are thousands of km from home and know nobody.
