 It is an MP3 file of stories, music, interviews whatever you like at lot of radio stations and TV stations do it now with their interviews and shows. Also the ABC.

You subscribe / download and then you can listen to via computer or tablet, mp3 player

It is a combination of broadcast and iPod - you download something that has been broadcast to listen to on your iPod hence podcast. Of course as its just an MP3 file you can listen to it on all sorts of digital devices not just the iPod and they're generally free and available from lots of sources - just google podcasts.

Not just Dougwe I fear - me and the missus both have severe cases of CRS (can't remember s**t) that are getting worse with each passing day

My CRS is no worse than it was yesterday. I think. But that ABC program Conversations is great... definitely worth a listen.
