My Husband & I will be touring with our caravan to Tasmania from 2nd Feb to 29th March starting in Devonport and returning to Devonport, any suggestion of the best route so we can see as much as possible.
We turned left off the ship and headed for Launceston, basing ourselves there for several days . Just went a different direction each day exploring. So much to see around there. We then did the east coast down to Port Arthur taking in a couple of weeks. Hobart for another week and then heading off to Strachan. We just stopped and based ourselves and each day branching out into the interior and back to base. Then off to Cradle Mountain and branching out from there. Up to Burnie and branching out from there. That time we could only do 5 weeks and still missed places so we are going back next year for 2 months.
Some places we loved Tamar Valley area Liffey Falls Bay of Fires and St Helens, Freycinet PeninsulA Port Arthur Hobart don't forget to spend a SAt. Morning at S alamanca Markets Huon Valley Strachan the cruise on the Gordon River is terrific, Sheffield
Look I could go on forever maybe someone else can come up with places to see. Ross and Richmond not to be missed. Have a wonderful trip
I asked the same question a few days ago - look on the next page under the heading Tasmania and you'll see the great response I had. We tke the ferry to Tasmania on the evening of 8 February - maybe see you there.
