dad had a fall

hi guys,

 

rough night again , was about to go to bed around 2 am after watching clint eastwood on tv

and got a call from my sister in sydney who got a call from vital call , which dad has

he apparently had a fall  in between his bed and his toilette in his en-suite 

any way i dashed over there and ambulance was there, we have a set up with a key in  a place that the ambo's

can get too and is security coded, and only a very few people know about it..

so it was 4.30 am by the time they left and I got him settled, was 5 am by the time I got to bed..

oh well.. he is ok now had a little bit to drink and is sleeping in bed... has a few bruises here and there..

I'm going to stay over for a few days till my sister can come down ... hopefully thursday..

 

just thought I'd update you all,

Sorry to hear that Milo, sounds like he might be better in a nursing home where staff can monitor him.

Milo,

I know it's really tough when you are worried about someone being at home without help directly at hand. I reckon the monitoring system sounds pretty effective but I'm sure you, Dad and family will decide what is best.

I hope you manage to get a good sleep.

thanks guys, just talked with my sister over phone and we thought best for him to go to the hospital, so he is on his way now
just no energy at all ,been in bed all day..

Ill sleep when he's ok .. .

No good for you or Dad Milo - but hospital is the best place at the moment - may need someone with him 24/7 - nursing home maybe??
But he is probably fiercely independent, as a lot of them are at that age - but no good falling over, what if he passed out and didn't press his emergency button? Not good.

Very sad Milo for you to see your dad like this, but hospital is the best and safest place for him to be.  Thinking of you cry

thanks guys, I had a very early to bed last night ,and haven't been up too long.
so guess I needed it .. any way dad is in tonight at least..
not sure about tomorrow night.. will let you all know ..
