Insurance coverage for your furniture stored in your shed

We are soon to set off and rent out our house. We decided to store most of our furniture in our large shed on our residential site. When I contacted our insurance provider to cover landlord insurance and get contents insurance on our furniture, only to be told that they would not cover this. Question, does any know of an insurance company who will cover this or what have others done in respect of this.

I have done this, but chose to use the services of a broker.
This is not an area for DIY, in my view. Get the assistance of an expert in the field. He/she will get the best deal for you and ensure that "all the bases are covered".

Cheers,
Peter

Try RACV....I spoke re us keeping things in a shed while we go nomading and it was no problem provided you keep the key. I must declare that I work for IAG which owns RACV insurance.........

We rented home in Feb this year & the ONLY one you would insure contents in our separate shed as well as a commercial storage shed was Commisure. Not a problem at all. RACQ lost our home insurance because they were not interested.

Staggering to read that RACQ would not allow insurance re your gear in storage but the post below RACV allowed.

As an x-broker, I agree with Peter, this is not easy to place and if you come up against a brick wall, contact a broker as they may be able to help.
