We drove to the South Perth foreshore today and had breakfast at a Café called Proud Mary's (Cudo gift voucher), fantastic food, parking underneath, 1 hour free, 2nd hour $4.00.
There are a number of cafe's in the road leading down to the jetty (Mends Street) to choose from, including Dome etc and an IGA.
We decided to take the ferry across to Perth to the Barrack Street Jetty and back again afterwards (free to WA Senior Card holders) all within the 2 hours parking, so total cost for the morning was $4. Weather was fine, black swans on the river and a great return ferry ride.
For those who don't mind walking a couple of blocks, you can walk to the Perth Zoo from the South Perth Jetty.
Reason I am telling you this is if you are a visitor to Perth and can catch a train/bus (free Cat buses tour around Perth and to the Barrack Street Jetty) down to the jetty, it is a fantastic ferry ride across to South Perth or the zoo on that side, or drive to the South Perth side and Zoo instead.
There are also cruises of the upper Swan River and down to Fremantle or Rottnest too from the Barrack St Jetty.

All beaut ferry trips along the river, The trip to Freo ,and the mega houses , One there that belongs to a mining magnet from South Africa who only lives in for about 8 weeks per year, it looks like out of that TV serial Dallas, set to one side is the garners cottage ( normal size house ) and then each of the three kids have there own condo on the grounds.
