Blatherskite Park Camping Under CP Threat

What I would like to know is why can two caravan parks have another business' books audited. Does that mean that I can ask for the local butcher's books to be audited because I am Woolworths or Coles. Maybe we should ask to see the caravan parks books as well. Maybe that will reveal who is telling the truth and who is not.

My apologies if this has already been raised.

I have just read this on facebook. see article here: https://www.facebook.com/Freechoicecamping?hc_location=timeline

Amazes me how the caravan parks think they "own" the caravan/camper users and can force all of us into their overpriced parks.

I always believed that Australia was a free market and if you are in business then you can offer a product or service to the marketplace at whatever pricing you like.

So if we have a local showground trust able to offer camp sites with minimal facilities at a price of say $15 per night for 2 adults for a site with power/water/amenities. Why then is the local caravan park able to complain about unfair competition with their sites being priced at say $35 for 2 adults with power/water/amenities/swimming pool/playground/spa/shop/tennis court/jumping pillow/bike hire etc etc.

Surely these are two different products/services and will be utilised by two different market sectors.

I do not believe the competition is unfair.

just my little rant for today

I noticed reading the news paper report that one of the wingers is the operator from a Big4 c/van park .If these parks are not filling up with Rvs and the park in question is,that tells me that maybe they need to adjust their pricing so they will attract people.

No different than Coles/Woolworths shopper dockets re discount on fuel. The independent servo still has to survive with this cut price going on or the corner shop competing against Coles or Woolworths.

The other thing that it appears the caravan park operators must get together in each area and come up with a ball park fee to suit them all ,so the competition (fees ) between each c/ park is getting less and less for the traveller..

In my opinion this will also go down to the low cost camps that are around this (not so free ) country of ours.

As a lot of these places are on government/council/ owned land.
