Hi all, we will by buying a van and heading off for the rest of our lives, as soon as we sell the house that is. does any one know if there is much work about, Mike has driven just about everything with wheels, and I have an office and retail background, I also have an interest in dog grooming but willing to try my hand at anything.
There is cane work in Queensland in the season, and grain work all over the place, also in the season. Check out the classifieds on this site, often people looking for workers of one sort and another, I believe. Myself, I am never going to do another days work in my life!!!!!!!!!
Good luck, with your travels, it is a great life our here!

Michelle......2 words.....head west.
From Esperance to Kununurra, choose your job.
I have MC licence, forklift, loader & excavator.
We were on our touring lap and I knocked back 3 jobs.
We are heading back there and will probably never return to "nanny state" Qld!

Hey, you did not ask me if you could come back again
thanks for that, have never been west, grew up on a sheep station in NSW, which was pretty good, I guess that is part of why I want to shoot through!! Mike is a Pom and cannot believe the vast amounts of open space we have.
Head WEST my friend or Darwin if you are serious about work .We are based in QLD at present re work, but as soon as this project is finished we are out of here, and heading back to the best state in the country WA.
Wombat,,,, !!Work,!! You would get milk out of a Virgin Nuns tit, easier than work out of me,,,,, its a effort just to get a good fart out of me these days stay excited Wombat...................Billeeeeeee
thanks for the info, we will not want to work all the time, but good to know there is work out there when we need it.
Knock on Doors. Ask Questions, Tourist Bureau is a good place. So's the Council Office. Or Stock and Station Agents. Just front up and say "Giz a job"
If they know your not going to pull the "Bad Back" syndrome or immediately, go on the sickies routine. Your only there as a casual and can be terminated in one hour.
You are a desirable employee for short term casual employment. Almost every Farmer or small holder needs a break and someone to look after the place while they go to Bali for a few days RnR.
We have now been on the road for 2 1/4 years, and in that time, we have worked the following:
Birdsville Caravan Park 2011 Races - We got this by just getting in touch with the caravan park ourselves.
70,000 acre farm near Winton, Qld - "Grey Nomads Classified"
Driving position for bean harvest in Bowen, NQ - Workabout Australia
3 months at Prairie Hotel, Parachilna, SA - "Grey Nomads Classified"
Viterra (SA) for 2012 Grain Harvest - we just applied via their website in August 2012
Port Vincent Caravan Park SA - "our Grey Nomads Classified"
Kalgoorlie Caravan Park WA - we sent emails out to various caravan parks in an area were were travelling to
William Bay Cottages Denmark and private property near Perth - "Grey Nomads Classified"
CBH (WA) for 2013 Grain Harvest - We applied via their website in May 2013
We advertise our services in Grey Nomads Classifieds and get heaps of calls and emails, unfortunately, not always in the area we are travelling through, but it pays to put your advert in. Also, unpaid position, i.e. private property near Perth, we got site, power and water in return for weeding & raking around the garden - we were then able to explore the area extensively, while saving on site rentals (just be selective on the type of work you are required to do, allowing for at least an imaginery hourly rate of $20.00 per hour, vs a caravan site rate of $25 - $30.00 per day.)
