Jurien Bay - dog sitter required for a day Oct 13

We will be staying in the Jurien Bay Holiday Park between 13 - 19 Oct, 13.

We are hoping to visit 2 different National Parks on the same day & we are hoping someone would be willing to dog sit for a day.

We love travelling with our dog Kip, we left him home during our last short break (visiting a National Park), but missed him & we know he loves travelling with us.

Kip is a 11 year old Ruby Cavalier - too well fed now that we have lost his brother & sister to old age - he loves to sleep lots, so he won't be any trouble for anyone who has a corner for him to curl up in.  He is not a 'barker' & loves lots of loving.  He gets on well with other dogs - we have just dog sat our friends 3 dogs for 2 weeks.

If you can help, we are happy to pay a small fee, we would love to hear from you.

Welcome to the forum.
We aren't near so can;t help, but sometimes the local vet will board them for a day, or even boarding kennels, but you need their vaccinations certs.
Hope you find some one to assist.
Rosie

Hi Rosie,
We have used vet's before, just was hoping to find a more 'homely' surrounding for Kip

Hi ,

I travelled up some of the west coast earlier this year (as far as Monkey Mia) with two big (labrador and rottweiler x) and very friendly dogs. I took the dogs to local pubs, bakeries, anywhere really, and introduced the dogs and asked the locals. I had great responses, the locals always helped and looked after my dogs in their own homes and spoilt them rotten, walked them on beaches etc. My advice? ask the locals and just keep asking. No one would take money, but I brought back chocolates and wine anyway. I found local tourist info places weren't really able to help, but the local folk fell over backwards to help.

And, from memory, Jurien Bay caravan park offered advice on local sitters.....

Cheers,
Sal

Thanks for the advice Sal - that is what we will be doing, asking the locals. - if not, then either we will not go to the parks or hubby can visit the National Parks to photograph wildflowers (again) & I will spend the day with Kip wandering around Jurien. I have already called the park & they couldn't offer any advice except find someone when we arrive.

Even ask at the local bottle shop, supermarket, anywhere. There's always someone ;)

Good luck with it all!

When we were in Bowen, we got quite friendly with one of the local tourist bureau members.  She offered to puppy sit our border collie for the day when we when snorkelling on the reef. We took up the offer.  We have also used other Grey Nomads and vet services.  If we were close by, we would help.
