I am considering fitting a CTEK charger to my Pajero. I am currently running 2 Exide Extreme (hybrid) batteries with a Piranah switching system. I have never been excited about the voltage in my 2 batteries, particularly when I free camp. I run a 38 litre Engel in the car, and run the van's needs with an umbilical cord. I have not fitted a battery in the van for a number of reasons. I find that while I can survive for a day or two, I need to go for drives to top up the batteries. I intend to get portable solar panels also, (maybe 100W), and hope this package will allow me to sit around the camp more, knowing the batteries will hold out a bit longer.
I would appreciate comment from members who may have done the same.
Thanks for your feedback, Barry.
PS, I see on the net that prices for the CTEK Dual range from $229 to $365. Anyone found a better price ?
I have the said CTEK in my Avan looking after my 100AH Battery. The car looks after things while driving and a 120W solar panel looks after things while camping without 240v. My 3 way fridge is also hooked up to the car side of it for when driving. I have been told everything would look after 2x100AH Batteries without any worries. I have stayed at Greens Lake Near Shepparton Victoria for 5 weeks non stop with no worries at all. Gene never had to make an appearance.

I would not use anything else in the configuration that I have charging from the car and via Sola panels. I also use a Ctec mains charger when we are camped up and on 240 vac be it mains or Generator. All works very well.
