vitifrigio switch

I have one with the manual switch that you turn clockwise to switch on. I've only ever switched it off. I tried to switch it on this afternoon in preperation for the wild flower trip tomorrow and its stuck. I just can't budge it. The manual says just turn it on so there's no special trick. I tried pushing it in and pulling it out. No go. Has anyone else experienced this?

It looks as though I'll have to rig up the trusty old Engel to see us through the trip.

Hi Bryan

we have a DP150,,,,, 2 door fridge freezer,,, and it has the knob type thermostat.

Just reached in pulled the knob OFF in my hand.  If you do this you may be able to spray the themostat shaft with WD40 (BUT SPRAY PENETRENE - REPCO HAS IT about $14 ish - IS BETTER) AND TURN WITH PLIERS IN ATTEMPT TO FREE UP.

Failing this remove the thermostat and the capillary tube CAREFULLY and try to free up on the bench.

Good luck

Thanks Baz. I'm all thumbs so I'll book it in at a caravan repairer next week.

On the positive side my jury rigged engel worked well and might become a permanent fixture as a dedicated freezer.
