Made it out of Brisbane and sitting at Flanigans reserve. We are heading to Wagga Wagga as I have a 3 month nursing contract.
Any suggestions on the route we take to get there. Have about 9 days to get there. Was thinking... Flannigans, Tenterfield, Armidale, Tamworth, Dubbo, Parkes, Wagga Wagga.
Anyone have any suggestions for free camp or cheap camping/national parks on the way?? We dont need power but will need water at some stage along the way...oh and dump points!!!
Maybe see some of you out there on the way!!!
Heres a few pics of our stay at Flanigans...and the 1st attempt of making bread in the camp oven!! Was yummo!!!
If you are heading through Armidale, try Dumaresque Dam. It is a beautiful spot and free. There are often a lot of daytrippers on the weekend but during the week it is very quiet. No power or drinking water but does have flush toilets. When I was there week before last there were only three of us camping. Will be heading back up there week after next.
Limited camping on the river at Bendemeer. Beautiful free camping at Chaffey Dam on the way to nundle but only 40 minutes from Tamworth.
Dump points at both Armidale and Tamworth. Can fill up at visitors centre or happy for you to fill up at my place.
Mother of Ducks Lagoon at Guyra is also a lovely place to stay. Guyra is approx. 1/2 hour north of Armidale. The free camp is near the Bowling Club and a couple of blocks from the main street. Happy camping
