Yass Valley Council would like travellers to know that there is a Sullage Dump Site on Yass Valley Way.

Coordinates: 34°51'S 148°55'E

I'm guessing that "128" should have been "148".

Thanx Rosie,

However i tried to find it from those co-ordinates and ended up in the great Australian Bight?
Could you give some more details perhaps?
I'm guessing it might be in the showgrounds as this is on the same road?

I have a site that I try to keep up to date with as many dump points (and other POI's) as I can find, free for anyone to download and would like to add it.

Cheers,

We called into Yass this week looking to stay overnight. Found the advertised dump point... It's out the front of the council depot. No place to stay nearby though. Yass is a nice town and we noted caravan parking behind the main shopping drag, very convenient. However, when it comes to finding a place to stay... No free camps .... Except the show ground, that has such bad reviews fro cleanliness we gave it a miss. One caravan park only despite others being in the guide books, we couldn't find them. The one we found was old, run down and full of permanents.
So we gave Yass a miss, and continued on to Jugiong..... Stayed at the show ground, what a little gem!!!! Huge area, all level sites, dog friendly, riverside, clean toilets and showers, pub and bakery across the road, no limits on length of stay. Newly mown, lots of bird life, plants of shade, all for gold coin donation.
My advice, skip Yass and try Jugiong. In my book it even beats Gunning, and we will be going back.
Best on the Hume Highway!!!

In Yass there is a free camp called Joe OConnor Park, just off Laidlaw Street
This camp is only for self contained, as there are no facilities there

Camp Australia Wide book 8
Camp NSW #606
I drove through there in February 2017
As it was raining heavily, and the ground was dirt, I found another spot in a bitumen car park

Coming into the town, from the Canberra direction, there is a Woolies on the right hand side of the Yass Valley Highway
If you turn right at the next intersection, there is a large bitumen car park on the right.
This car park has designated RV parking spots, there are no signs on how long you can or not park

In appreciation that no one told me to leave, I cleaned up the area
There was no rubbish in the car park itself, but plenty had blown into the vegetation I left a car tyre, and a household chair, as they would not fit into the bin
