Insurance following Suspension Modification

My motorhome is comprehensively  insured with CIL through the WRVC and before changing the Fiat Ducato suspension to King Springs I enquired with the insurance company to confirm the improvement would be acceptable. The following was the reply.

The changes that the client is considering are fine with us, just email us when it has been fitted and we will note it on the policy as a body modification. Also at the time, let us know if the client would like to increase the sum insured of the motorhome to cover the cost, or just to leave as is and make a note of the changes only.

If you have made any changes to the suspension it may be advisable to inform your insurance company if you have not already done so.
Better to be safe than sorry, it would be a pity if any claim was refused because of an 'unauthorised' alteration.

The third party insurance which is with QBC resulted in the following reply.

'I have received your request for assistance with your CTP. This modification will have no affect on your Compulsory Third Party as it is a Government Regulated Policy, compulsory for all road registered vehicles.'
