3 days at Lightening Ridge Big Emu

Thats what I thought too Jules. Will look into that.

Not sure where she gave birth but already back on the road, gave me the creeps.

A very interesting 3 days it was. Yesterday a family came on for an overnight stay. They were in the biggest holiday bus I'd ever seen. It was an old Adelaide Transit bus. Twice as long with the concertina middle.I've got photos but can't upload them till I get home.

Dad and a tribe of snotty nosed kids. Mum was there somewhere, she had a baby the night before. One of the boys about 5 or 6 had pleasure in telling me several times he had ua baby sister who came in 8 minutes. Did I want to see her. No thanks, not after the last 6 weeks of changing dirty nappies.

The bus looked huge andwas dipped

In the middle but may have been the way he was parked.
He did bottom out coming through to his park as the ground had a few dips and rises.

Oh the joys of writing this on the phone.

The other side of me was a chap who spends his life fossicking. He has two mini foxies and is over from WA, heading east. Has been around a few times.
Very chatty chap and very I interesting to listen to.
He came back from town one day and wandered over with a raw chicken wing for Jessie, while his dogs were eating theirs.
Jessie had gobbled hers up in a matter of minutes. I bought a couple more for her today, from the same IGA, she's not interested. Oh well theres always tomorrow.
I gave the man, never did find out his name, my old No: 5 Camps Aus Wide book as I now have No:7
In return he gave me a highly polished piece of Jasper. A beautiful red colour. Has a nice shape, will take a photo when I get home. I dont know of any value or how much it would have cost to get it polished but presume he wouldn't have bothered if it didn't have any value. What a lovely man.
So I also gave him a book as he loves Australian history. This one was The Dig Tree, The story of Burke and Wills.

Saw that just as mine appeared Marj.   It wasn't there when I started to reply.  They must have crossed on the way.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Travelling in a big bus with kids - did the mother give birth in the bus??????? Some people are game, just take the plunge and do it!!!!

Glad you are enjoying yourself Marj - and red jasper is beautiful - probably not a great lot of value - and he probably does his own cutting and polishing, not too hard when you know how. You want to get it set into a pendant - might be nice wrapped in some silver wire, and then onto a chain. would look lovely, as well as a memento of a good time.

I googled the jasper last night. Certainly is a beautiful piece, will definitely get it set on a chain. Thanks for the advice Jules.

A very interesting 3 days it was.

G'day HW we arrived in the Ridge Saturday Arvo and by the time we found the Opal CP

and settled in,  it was getting fairly late. We saw that you were probably going to the Sundy market,so we dropped in there

to see if we could find you. Nope, missed out again, so hotfooted it to the Big Emu and saw the big bus,(still dipped) but no you.

We live in hope that we will meet up somewhere in this great land. Your reputation as a lovely lady precedes you. Val and Rob told me that for free.smilesmile

Safe travels

Kevin.

I decided to leave Saturday morning peterpan. It was a spur of the moment decision
Now at Kumbia. Will be here till Wednesday morning unless I change my mind, but I don't think so as don't need to be in Biggy till Wednesday and want to get frozens from Aldi in Kingaroy..
Didn't go out to Grawin NeilnRaine. Finances are getting a bit low, not able to go too far off track for the rest of the trip.
