Nice sunny day, beautiful gardens and waterfalls/ponds etc, reminded me a bit of the botanical gardens at Mt Coot-tha in Brisbane...

Thanks John, first time I've been there I'm ashamed to say, SWMBO went there 35 years ago when it first started.

The first time I saw mini golf in Perth was the Radison Observation City hotel site at Scarborough, it was just a vacant block then turned into a mini golf course, it was opposite Luna Park (closed long ago and now has a shopping centre with the same name).

That was around 1956, joined the Army in 1958 so not sure when the golf course closed and Luna park as I was no longer around Perth.

Kathy and I often go there for breakfast as we're just up the road in Mindarie. They also serve a mean pizza.

Thanks, that was pretty cheap, I think we paid about $14 a head entry. Maybe we went to a special event there, I can't recall.

I do remember the tea and scones there were great!

We saw the wood fired pizza oven in action Bryan, were tempted but settled for a bowl of chips and garlic dip and a coffee.

Araluen Botanic Gardens (near Armadale, WA) are also beautiful at the moment, the tulips are bountiful, and with the sunshine we have had the past week - wow. We enjoyed even more than Kings Park.

We haven't been there for a long time, from memory they had a fairly hefty entry fee, is that still the same and if so how much is it?

In regards to Kings Park, if you want to see it at its best for wildflowers, go there during September for the Wildflower Festival, when you open the link click on the little boxed cross on the blank square for a slide show, see;

We're doing the wild flower circuit (around Mullewa, Perejori area) in early September so that will give us our flower fix for this year Bryan.

Have to wait for Father's Day to pass first on the 1st, then a couple of days to finish preparations before we take off.

Wildflower Country-Exploring Wildflower Way..was developed by the shires of Dalwallinu, Perenjori, Morawa and Mullewa as well as the city of Greater Geraldton WA.

It involves 21 sites from Dalwallinu to Geraldton,with each site featuring an informative interpretive panels with an artistically designed steel sculpture.

Thanks Herbie, will keep an eye out for the signs, just googled the info you gave also, we have done this route before and will probably follow it pretty well as they have shown on the map, head up one way and back another.....
